Igor Lipinski ...... piano performance is magical ... Literally!

Igor Lipinski, born on 10th September 1986, from Tarnów, Poland. Lipinski received the Grand Prix Award at the Paderewski Competition for Young Pianists in Kasna Dolna, Poland at the age of 12. He graduated from the Paderewski High School in his hometown Tarnów. Lipinski earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Piano Performance, Literature and Musical Arts at the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester where he studied piano under the tutelage of Prof. Douglas Humpherys.

Lipinski first visited the United States in 2004 at the invitation of Dr. Kazimierz Braun, Professor of Theatre at the University at Buffalo, where he played a featured role of a young pianist in a world premiere of “Paderewski’s Children”, a theatre play based on the life of the piano virtuoso and the prime minister of Poland Ignacy Jan Paderewski.

Lipinski maintains an active concert career in United States including recitals in New York City, Chicago and Las Vegas. He recently appeared with recitals at Steinway Concert Series at University of South Florida and St. Petersburg College Concert Series in Florida, Paso Robles Paderewski Festival in California, Polish Hall in Portland, Oregon, Lutkin Hall at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, Summer Concert Hall at the Paderewski’s Manor House in Poland, Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago and Northeastern Illinois University as a recipient of the prestigious Kosciuszko Foundation Scholarship. In 2012, he made his Chicago theatrical debut as a featured pianist in TimeLine Theatre Company’s “33 Variations” – a theatre play based on Beethoven’s Diabelli Variations.

Inspired by 1839 Monologues Pianistiques, Franz Liszt’s first piano recitals, Lipinski announces his repertoire from the stage, actively involves the audience in the discussion about his musical selections and often features a surprising element of innovative & interactive illusions. Teller calls him an original: “He thrills you on the piano. He mystifies you with magical illusions. And he keeps you laughing with his impudent, charismatic charm.” The reviewer from Buffalo News highlights Lipinski’s unique approach to the concert stage: “As a pianist on the cusp of his career, Lipinski holds a special card in his hand. His performances are magical. Literally.”

Novanta (means Ninety), is an instrumental project post-rock, shoegaze and electronic devised and performed by Manfred Lamartina, from Palermo for a few years stationed in Milan. 

Why the name Novanta (nineties)? In the nineties, Layne Staley was still alive, Mark Kozelek staged his intimate drama called Red House Painters , Billy Corgan dreamed of a better rock , My Bloody Valentine gave a sense of the chaos and Mogwai beginning of a fantastic story arpeggios and crescendo. In the nineties there were the twin towers, the magical nights, tangentopoli, the massacres of the Mafia , Berlusconi and Prodi, the Italian Lira highly devalued, petroleum at $10 a barrel. In the nineties, Angelo Badalamenti composed the most beautiful soundtrack ever, while the great Lance Henriksen finally took a leading role with Millennium. In the nineties it was thought that a millennium of flying cars, teleport, space travel, and Star Wars only. That's why it's called Novanta (Ninety). A sort of musical commentary slow to remember the times that were and to tell the mood of those who expected a twenty-first century by different colours. Not surprisingly, Novanta (Ninety) is also the number that represents fear.

The Record Company, is a rock/blues/roots trio based in Los Angeles. Steeped in the classic sounds of Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker along with the raw rock and roll of The Stooges and The Yardbirds, The Record Company have burst onto the scene in a very short time.

Their live show has quickly become acclaimed throughout North America and has drawn capacity audiences from Los Angeles to Montreal. With their new EP Superdead, the band has been receiving strong airplay at AAA and college radio throughout the United States and Canada and have been featured on L.A. Weekly, Time Out L.A. and XPN/The Key. 2013 will see the band appearing at Montreal Jazz Festival, Summerfest (Milwaukee), Quebec City International Summer Festival, Ottawa Bluesfest, and Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival amongst others.

The band has received wide exposure through the use of their song “Feels So Good” in the theatrical trailer for the movie “Last Vegas” starring Robert DeNiro, Michael Douglas, Morgan Freeman, and Kevin Kline. The trailer began airing July 22nd, 2013 and will run up through the movie’s release date in November, 2013.

The band has also gained a new fanbase by way of their cover of the Grateful Dead’s “New Speedway Boogie”, which was chosen by The Dead as one of the top covers of their “Dead Covers Project”. The band is being featured by The Dead on their website (dead.net) for the month of July 2013.

While never trying to simply emulate the great masters, the band have found their own fresh take on the music and can best be described as a group giving a 21st century nod to a timeless art form.

Disabled mannequins will be eliciting astonished looks from passers-by on Zurich's Bahnhofstrasse today. Between the perfect mannequins, there will be figures with scoliosis or brittle bone disease modelling the latest fashions. One will have shortened limbs; the other a malformed spine. The campaign has been devised for the International Day of Persons with Disabilities by Pro Infirmis, an organisation for the disabled. Entitled "Because who is perfect? Get closer.", it is designed to provoke reflection on the acceptance of people with disabilities. Director Alain Gsponer has captured the campaign as a short film.

The figures are life-sized, three-dimensional representations of Miss Handicap 2010, Jasmin Rechsteiner, radio presenter and film critic Alex Oberholzer, track and field athlete Urs Kolly, blogger Nadja Schmid and actor Erwin Aljukic.

"We often go chasing after ideals instead of accepting life in all its diversity. Pro Infirmis strives especially for the acceptance of disability and the inclusion of people with disabilities," says Mark Zumbühl, a member of the Pro Infirmis Executive Board, in describing the campaign.

Mountain Mirrors .... Jeff also known as “the Sandman”, has been exploring light and darkness, he writes the lyrics and guitar and vocal melodies for Mountain Mirrors. The first band influences that made him pick up a guitar was Van Halen. Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax and fell in love with thrash music, that was all he listened to when he was a teen. He also loves classic rock. Lately Jeff is listening to folk, ambient music and even more thrash.

Some of his friends and studio players have played drums, bass, keyboards, cellos and violins on my music, including Per Ulfheilm, Magnus “Trummange” Brandell, Peter Yttergren, Claire “Ambiencellist” Fitch, Vine Sweetland, Nick Bensen, Simon “Watto” Watson, Elad Fish, Guy Bartor and Kurt Baumer.

”Le difese” è il primo lavoro sulla lunga durata dei Vessel,progetto di Corrado Nuccini ed Emanuele Reverberi (Giardini di Mirò) che torna oggi ad uso e consumo di chi ha “la bussola al cuore” e che uscirà per Santeria/Audioglobe a metà febbraio 2014 in un edizione limitata a 500 copie numerate in vinile con cd allegato nella confezione. Curiosità:
testi come le musiche sono state scritte in un arco temporale lungo, il primo pezzo "Il Soffio" è del 2006, scritto a Rimini il giorno del trentaduesimo compleanno di Corrado, l'ultimo "La Spinta" è del 2013 rifinito in aereo di ritorno da Taranto, dopo un reading insieme ad Emidio Clementi.
In mezzo sono passati tanti anni, anni in cui sono cambiate diverse cose della vita, altre sono rimaste intatte come la passione per la musica, il desiderio del viaggio, lo slancio verso l'altrove, lo scambio, l'incontro. Walid Feghali .... a wizard in music and art!

Walid Feghali, 23 years old, a young composer and visual artist and mechanical engineer, who lives in the outskirts of Gothenburg, Sweden.

Feghali, true passion lies in music. When he was a child he played several instruments and has been fascinated by many tings such as science, music and art. He used to write down what he saw and paint the viewfield. He started teaching himself piano at the age of 9, when his family moved into a big old house in the late 90s. After memorizing and mockups of existing songs, he started to create his own melodies. After, he bought a guitar started singing, and all went from there. Inspiration surges after watching shows, painting art, just kicking back listening to music and watching music. Feghali has a Bachelor in Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a direction in Applied Acoustics.

He is most creative by night, but lately whenever he feels like and at ease, especially after having played a nice inspiring game. Alot of research before writing music is done, reading articles, watch clips on Youtube, images and paintings.

Alla fine dell'ascolto di questo Ep la sensazione che rimane è di gradevolissima sorpresa, e si scopriamo molto più di come loro, amino, definirsi; il disco è una piacevole congiunzione di voci, sonorità e testi che mi ha ricondotto nella memoria dei mai dimenticati Giorgio Gaber, Francesco De Andrè e Enzo Jannaci.

Un incontro che non lascia indifferenti si ama sin dalla prima nota.

David Krystal ... songs of love, loss and hope

David Krystal, born in London and lives in Toronto - Canada, has been a professional musician since leaving university, he is a singer and songwriter.

He also wrote original music for TV and film for years. Krystal is making the return to playing live after a long absence.

Some say Krystal sounds like Van Morrison others have said Jack Johnson, David Gray, Joan Armatrading, Don Henley. He has also been influenced by the soul greats like Marvin Gaye. To sum up there is a soulful element that comes probably from his vocal style, while his compositions can vary from country blues through smooth jazz even to art rock.

"View From The Inside" album written and produced by David Krystal in 2010. This is the first studio album in the triptych series ‘Songs of Hope and Sorrow’.
